I've lived here for 3 years and absolutely loved it. All my best childhood memories take place here. Other than Utah, I'd consider living in Portland. It's as exciting as any big city, yet comfortable enough to call home. Amazing ocean beaches, and wild lush growth of nature... ideal for those scenic snap-shots. I also love the urban and artistic lifestyle. If I don't end up in this beautiful city, I'd surely visit every year.
