Lessons Learned This Year

It's okay to do things by yourself. I've practically experienced a lot of things this year by myself. I don't know you might think that's loser-ish. But I enjoy being by myself. I rarely get to do things alone so when I do, I enjoy things 10x more. Mainly becos I do things that I like to do and appreciate it more, alone. Haha...

Focus on one success at a time. I get quite anxious a lot about the things I need to get done that I end up doing something completely different from what I had originally planned... so no matter how small, at least finish one success throughout your day. That way, you won't feel like an eff up at life ;) just playin'... but really.

You can jump without thinking. It's okay. Trust me.

Just becos everything is in sight, doesn't mean you know what you're looking for. Even when you've planned out life it can get derailed for the better. It's great to know where you want to go, but sometimes the unexpected path you weren't meant to take, but took might lead you to where you were supposed to go to begin with. Don't be intimidated by the road less traveled. Instead you should be excited to be the first to discover it. You won't always know what life you were meant to live anyway.

Can't control something? Stop caring about it. There are some things you can help and then there are some things with which you have no power over. It's time to stop worrying about what you can and can't control. The universe will take care of that for you.

Sleep it off. I love sleep. Hence my URL. For me, it's a remedy for crappy days.

Sometimes, family doesn't know best. They love you, yes. They support you, yes. But sometimes, they don't get you. They don't get why you do the things you do. And It's really nobodies fault. But becos sometimes expressing who you are or what you want to do can fall into deaf ears and be taken as a joke or brushed off can be a setback. Their lack of confidence in something that you want to do can be defeating. Understand that your family is what molded you, created you, and gave you the essentials you need to build the world as you see fit. But they don't define you.

Amazing people do exist. Yeah, you have to go through a lot of crap-heads, but amazing people do show up where you least expect it. And it's okay that you had to go through a lot of crap-heads to find them, becos you know what, you won't take them for granted when you do.

No point in walls. Emotional ones, at least. I'm learning to give people the benefit of the doubt. That way, I won't miss out on meeting someone great becos I was too cooped up about getting my feelings hurt. Your going to experience the negative in life. And honestly, if you have high opinions of yourself then you can't really get hurt. And taking the time to establish high views of yourself will be worthwhile in the end. But don't be cocky.

Love : Despite the heartaches, even if the heart break tranches seem to be the only thing protecting you from the world, love. Love, for a year. Love, for a month, a day, a minute, for the rest of your life. Love your family. Love your friends. Love your culture, your background, your childhood. Love your ambitions, dreams and thoughts. Love your mind. Love your body. Love yourself. Just becos someone breaks one aspect of love doesn't mean they've completely shattered the entire definition.

oh annnnd I really like this quote,

"A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle."

Happy Holidays!
