So much has happened since I last blogged. For starters January was an amazing month. Although I didn't get to accomplish all of the small goals I had set up for the month, I am still exceedingly proud that I ventured out and did things I usually wouldn't do. I've come to appreciate life more without always being connected. As much as I love social media, I've limited myself to only logging on when everything I've got planned for the day is finished. Or only when my baby is down for a nap. That's why I blog at all crazy hours of the night. Yesterday, my emotions were tested in all the forms that have proven to hurt me in the past but even in the moments I knew I wanted to be upset - I couldn't. I felt myself wanting to feel something - I didn't. As of late, my mind body and soul have aligned and this sense of gratitude gives me such a different kind of high, I can't even describe it. But it feels good and refreshing. I guess when you're feeding your body the proper nutrients, your mental health follows suit and when good things are happening within, the world just falls into place.
As far as mommy life goes
I love love LOVE watching my little man grow up. I was looking for a recent selfie to post, and I couldn't find a good one cos they are all old. (so last year) Been too busy, but mostly because my "looks" have taken a back-seat to toddler life (which is kicking my ass, by the way). This kid's taken my sleeping schedule hostage and rudely interrupts just about every attempt I've made at applying makeup. It's okay though, I'm so BLE$$ED to be his momma. Every day he does things that just amazes me. My hubby and I are always in awe of him and his personality, we just feel so lucky he's ours. He's smart, sweet and so sneaky. I'm really trying to introduce him to new foods while still implementing healthy choices. It's hard when he really knows and prefers what he likes, but some days he'll give in and eat something new. He's been helping me put away his toys and even helping me clean or move things around. My best friend! It's so funny to watch his small self try and do things. We are also working towards getting him fully potty trained. In the day, he'll let me know when he needs to go, mostly it's just to pee. And at night since my husband gets off a little later he helps him to the bathroom when I'm sleeping. I can definitely see progress which is way more than I expected, especially since we just started last week. He deserves so much more credit, and we will be as consistent as it takes.
Now that my son is starting to say more words, I'm excited to teach him complete sentences... so instead of straight gibberish, he says a couple of words and then gibberish haha. When the weather permits we are always outside playing and recently, I've met some of the other mom's in my neighborhood. It's cool because they walk with their kids everyday around noon and my son and I started joining them. They've been giving me so many good tips on how to better my parenting or even just things that I could consider. Even though their kids are a little older, they have really took us under their wing and even my son enjoys our walks. I love getting advice from other mothers/parents, let's me know I'm not the only mom with certain questions and concerns. And given the fact that 2 of them are pediatricians from the clinic just down my street, I trust their advice. Anyway, I enjoy being able to teach/spend time with my boo bear! I don't want to miss anything, because he really does grow and change with every day.
