beauty contest

i think it's silly when girls try and compete with eachother about looks. today, while my sister, my mom and i were at the store some lady walked up to my sister and told her she was gorgeous. i'm used to people complimenting her, it doesn't bother me. but what she said next was totally unexpected. "oh you must be the older sister... good genes must have not kicked in..." she says, and then walks away. i'm not exactly sure where she was getting at, but i know by her snobby attitude she didn't like me. either cos i looked different or ugly or whatever. let me say this. i don't look at every girl (ESPECIALLY my little sister, who is gorgeous) and think "wow, i want to look so much better than you or be better than you"...no. actually, i don't really give a shit. becos people can't help how they look. you can't really give someone you think is "beautiful" credit for how they look, becos they didn't create themselves. that's all just bullshit the media spoon feeds us to believe that if you look "better" your life must be peachy and perfect. people in general are just beautiful in my opinion. to each their own.
