I honestly don't feel like telling you this, but oh well. In middle school I had this incredibly huge crush on a boy named Mikale. I would scribble love notes to him in my diary, yes I had one. Shut up. I would also play "MASH" (remember that game?) to figure out what our future would hold. Because MASH was the perfect source to predict your love life with a boy who didn't even know you existed and had a new girlfriend every week and even sat in front of you in all your AP classes together. Yet, there I was in each class, doodling our faces together kissing surrounded by bubbled hearts in my Hello Kitty notebook like a stalker. Because, if it wasn't already obvious, I was in love with him. That is if being in love at 11 meant sitting next to him at lunch, playing ball with him, and walk home together - I was smitten.
But, Mikale thought I was weird and gross. I was short, awkward, flat chested and hung around with boys. Not cute at all. In PE he never let me come off the bleachers. Everybody in school knew I was in love with him. He was teased for it, and I was teased more. It bothered him more than it bothered me. I was careless and when we'd see each other in the hall, I would talk to everyone except him. Even though I really wanted to talk to him, I was afraid of rejection. I would come home and pout to my Nana about it. Then I always ended up stomping into my room and tearing up my diary. Clearly, I was a psychopath. Deep down I knew I'd be a pretty rad girlfriend to him. I had an extensive collection of Nintendo video games and DBall Z comic books for days. I was a force to be reckoned with when it came to sports. Whenever he picked me to be on his team, we'd win. We played well together. Shit, I even had a DMX bike. What's not to love?! And still, Mikale ignored my heart.
Then, something magical happened. High school happened. Boobs happened. My body is now balanced with my head happened. Growth happened. Boyfriends happened. Confidence happened. Okay, I was still awkward... but to Mikale, I was no longer gross. We went to different high schools. But now he was picking me up for lunch and walking me home and putting me first. Oh, the magic powers of puberty. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't like a drop-dead gorgeous teenager, but I was decent. And that wasn't the only reason Mikale and I started hangin' out. We actually had a lot in common. And you know, once you get older you start seeing things differently. Feeling differently. It was like my diary was finally narrating my love life 3 years later. Haha. Now he was the one writing me love letters.
At this point you're probably wondering if I ever got my Pride and Prejudice moment with Mikale. The answer is, no. We never got together. By this time, I was into other things, other people. Mikale no longer held interest for me. That's the funny thing about growing up. You change.
Day 11:
A picture of something you dislike -
Ahahaha, darn cute. I can't think of anything I dislike atm.
