occupy wall street

I don't support the movement. I cannot support a movement based on anger with no clear cut solution. You want change? Make a demand. But protesting becos you are angry and need an outlet. No thanks. It's rather pointless don't you think? Your outside protesting and turning blue in the face. Meanwhile, heads of corporations are looking out the window from their plush corner offices, watching people turn blue in the face whilst sipping on spiced pumpkin coffee. Or at least, that's what I picture in my mind.

Some of the reasons for protesting are down right embarrassing. Like, if you have student debt and can’t get a job, please protest at your school’s career service office. If you are against corporations, please don’t use an iPhone and then go charge it at McDonald’s. If the damn insurance company is denying you benefits, protest right outside their corporate headquarters and at the homes of their execs. There are thousands of first generation legal immigrants who come to the States, don’t speak English, and find a way to live a better life. I mean come on, at least we have a head start with the American language.

I’d rather be out there looking for a second job rather than holding a sign and getting harassed by cops all day. On the other hand, the behavior of the police departments involved has been saddening. How about changing that? Oh I know! Why not protest for change in the way affairs are handled... but maybe that makes too much sense.

I am not the 1% becos I don’t have money coming out of my ass, but I am also not the 99%.
I’m the 53% - which is the rest of the world that knows they have to work twice as hard for the things they need, becos they know life isn’t fair. And instead of complaining about it, they’re depending on themselves instead of the government.
