lost boys

I was watching this documentary on the Lost Boys of Sudan called God Grew Tired of Us (It was really good, I highly suggest it and it’s on Netflix instant watch.  Especially if you’ve only “heard” of the Lost Boys and never have really known who they are or what they did or why).  Basically, America sends money for a few of the Lost Boys to come to America and you see them seeing electricity and showers for the first time in their lives.  Unfortunately (spoiler? kind of?) they get really home sick and there’s a scene where they talk about how in Africa they’d spend so much time with each other in big groups, they were always together and in America they’re so lonely and everyone lives alone and has no time for one another.  It was crazy, because in Africa they wouldn’t have food for days so they’d all gather around and entertain one another to kill time and have fun.  It’s just funny how here in America we need a Holiday or something to celebrate for us to have a big party or make an effort to get together with lots of friends. And when they get together it is priceless. Just sayin'.
